Roger M. Keister

AGE: 88 • Dover

Roger M. Keister passed away Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at Kent General Hospital, Dover. He was 88. Mr. Keister was born in Rockford, IL, son of the late Ada Mae (Sowers) and Harold E. Keister. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Navy during WWII. Mr. Keister retired from the State of Delaware as director of the Delaware Home and Hospital, Smyrna, and upon retirement worked as assistant development director of what became Westminster Health Nursing and Rehab Center. Mr. Keister was a member of the Sons of the American Revolution, Son of the Union Veterans of the Civil War, Gideons and an active member of Presbyterian Church of Dover. He held a deep concern for people and a deep love of music.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years Naomi Keister, a daughter Kryspen Grow (Gerald) of Dover, two sons Kurt Keister of Kissimmee, FL and Mark Keister (Chris) of Dover, grandchildren John Rucniski of Farmington and George Grow of Dover and two great grandchildren Laure May and George R. Grow, Jr., a sister Carol Gibbins of Winabago, ILL.

Service will be 1:00 pm Tuesday, April 22, 2014 in the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, where friends may gather one hour earlier. Burial will follow in Sharon Hills Memorial Park, Dover.
