John Cantlin Obituary
AGE: 74 • Bear
Died peacefully at home on Wednesday December 31, 2014.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, John lived in Darby, PA most of his life until moving to Delaware in 1996. He graduated from Monsignor Bonner High School in 1958 and Widener University. He retired from UHS in 2005. He was a NASCAR fan.
He was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton parish, a member of Knights of Columbus Marian Council, Norwood, PA, and was a 4th Degree Knight. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother.
John was preceded in death by his parents, John and Margaret Cantlin and his son, John J. Cantlin, Jr.
He is survived by wife of 51 years, Anne Marie Cantlin (Herfurth) of Bear; his children, Anne Marie Apostoli (John), Sewell, NJ, Charles Cantlin, Havertown, PA, Theresa Fagan, Drexel Hill, PA, Michael Cantlin, Norwood, PA, and Patricia K. Johnson, Bear, DE; 14 grandchildren; 1 great-grandson, daughter-in-law, Danielle Cantlin, New Castle, DE, and his sister, Margaret Beam, Enola, PA.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton RC Church, 345 Bear Christiana Road, Bear on Monday, January 5, 2015 at 11:00 am. Friends may call at the Church from 9:30-11:00. Interment will be in All Saints Cemetery, Wilmington.
In lieu of flowers, Mass offerings or donations may be made to St. Elizabeth Ann Seton RC Church, 345 Bear Christiana Rd, Bear, DE 19701.
