Adele B. MacGregor, 91, of Lancaster, PA, passed away on April 1, 2017 at Arbor View at Willow Valley, where she had been a resident for 13 years. Born on May 15, 1925 in Minersville, PA, she was the daughter of the late William S. and Elva Mae Nattress Bracey and the wife of the late Malcolm C. MacGregor, who passed away in 1987. She previously resided in Newark, DE with her husband and son and in Philadelphia, PA before she married.

After graduating valedictorian from Minersville High School, she received her nursing degree from Hahnemann Hospital School of Nursing in Philadelphia. She worked and taught at Hahnemann from 1946 to 1960, ultimately attaining the position of Head Nurse. In The 1946 Vigil, Hahnemann's School of Nursing yearbook, Adele was described as a "Charming personality … Quiet and dignified … Conscientious leader … Talented pianist … Beautiful smile … Lover of earrings, classical music and steak dinners."

Adele was a member of Grandview United Methodist Church in Lancaster and a long-standing, active member of the Newark United Methodist Church and the Herb Garden Society in Newark, DE. She also enjoyed reading, traveling, and antiques.

Adele will be lovingly remembered by her son, William B. MacGregor of San Francisco, CA, her nieces, Judith B. (and her husband Drew) Davis of Palm Beach Gardens, FL and Kathleen (and her husband Keith) Shankland of Ft. Worth, TX and her nephews, Richard Bracey of St. Paul, MN and Scott (and his wife Kimberly) Bracey of Stillwater, MN. She was preceded in death by her brother, Earl L. Bracey and his wife Sara.

A family graveside service will be held at the Head of Christiana Cemetery in Newark, DE. The family requests that memorials be made in Adele's memory to Caring Hospice, 101 Good Dr., Lancaster, PA 17603. Please visit Adele's memorial page at www.thegroffs.com.
