Opdenaker, Raymond T. "Shorty"* - Upper Darby-Primos  
Raymond T. Opdenaker, age 80, of Aston, PA, passed away peacefully in his home, on Friday, April, 24, 2015. He was born and raised in Lenni, PA, and was the son of the late Elizabeth (McQuaid) and Harry Opdenaker. He is preceded in death by 9 siblings. He graduated from Media HS in 1952. He was the founder and owner of Opdenaker Trash Removal, established in 1969. After his retirement, he remained involved in the daily operations of the family business. Raymond enjoyed hunting in Tioga county, fishing and boating in the Chesapeake Bay, NASCAR, and driving around the town in his GMC pick up. Ray referred to himself as just a "Swamp man from Lenni", but was actually a "Ray of all trades," possessing the skill and knowledge to do everything himself. He was known for his quick wit, jokes, and famous pig roasts. Raymond was a member of the Aston Moose Lodge and St. Francis de Sales church, both in Aston. Raymond's loving wife, of 32 years, Rose Marie (Blosenski) died in 1989. Ray is the proud father of 4 loving sons, Teddy (Lori), Donald (Ann), Ken (Gigi), David (Aryse); a sister, Eleanor Opdenaker of McHenry, IL, 10 grandsons; Ryan, Donald Jr., Tommy, Justin, Tyler, Nick, Theo, Joseph, Alex, and Gus, 6 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. All services will be private. In lieu of flowers; the family suggests that donations be made to: Potter's Field Ministries, 914 2nd Street East, Whitefish, MT, 59937, Raymond's grandson, Theo, serves with this ministry in Guatemala.
