Poole, John Joseph* - Media  
1931 – 2016 John Joseph Poole, age 85, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, of Media, Pa. and formerly of Springfield, Pa., died peacefully on May 3, 2016. Born in Preston, MD, John grew up in Prospect Park and eventually moved to Springfield. He was a 1949 graduate of Prospect Park High School and attended Sleeper’s Business School and the University of Pennsylvania. John started working at Atlantic Richfield Company in 1950 until his retirement in 1985. He was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1952 and sent to Korea, where he worked for General Maxwell Taylor, and received two Bronze Stars and seven additional medals. He returned in 1954 and married his high school sweetheart, Barbara Yerkes. John was a member of the Ridley Park Presbyterian Church and later, the Springfield Presbyterian Church, where he served as a trustee, deacon, elder, and usher. John was a member of the Springfield Athletic Association, Indian Guides, and the Springfield Lions Club. He enjoyed spending time with his family in Sea Isle City, N.J., fishing and crabbing on his boat, and family get-togethers on holidays and birthdays. He moved to Granite Farms Estates in 2006 and served as Vice-President of the Granite Farms Residents Association. John was preceded in death by his parents, John Poole, Jr. and Ethel (Fluharty) Poole and his sister, Dorothy (Theodore) Robinson. John is survived by his wife, Barbara (Yerkes) Poole; daughter Sandra Carter; son Robert (Patti) Poole; his four grandchildren, Marie (Gabe) Pepper, Alicia Carter, Joshua Poole, and Anna Poole; and great-grandson, Gavin Pepper. A Memorial Service to celebrate John’s life will take place on Saturday, May 14th, 2016, at 10:30 A.M. in the auditorium at Granite Farms Estates, 1343 W. Baltimore Pike, in Media, Pa. A private family ceremony and burial will take place on Monday, May 9th, 2016. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Samaritan Fund, Granite Farms Estates, 1343 W. Richardson Jr., James W.* - Havertown  
(1944 – 2016) James W. Richardson, Jr. of Havertown The passing of James Woods Richardson, Jr. occurred quietly on Thursday, March 24, 2016, at Neighborhood Hospice in West Chester. He was a resident of Havertown. He struggled with Melanoma cancer for more than 30 years. He is the son of the late James Woods and Margaret Richardson and predeceased in death by a twin brother, John and sister, Lynne Ciarrocchi. Jim is survived by brothers, Samuel, David and Kenneth Richardson; as well as sisters, Barbara and Edna. A Celebration of Life Gathering for James (Jim) will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 7, 2016, at the American Legion Post #338, 2200 Grasslyn Avenue, Havertown, PA 19083, officiated by Rev. Raymond J. Hunter, Independent Christian Ministries,. 1934-2016 Dolores M. Roulston, passed on April 30, 2016 age 81, former longtime resident of Drexel Hill, PA. retired from Bell Telephone, and was a long time member of Bell’s Pioneer Club. Steenberg, Colleen M.* - Broomall  
1961-2016 Colleen M. (Hickey) Steenberg, 54, of Broomall, PA, passed away Saturday, April 30, 2016, after a brave battle with cancer. She was the daughter of the late Michael and Elizabeth (nee Quinlan) Hickey, sister-in-law of the late Colleen Hickey and the late Thomas Steenberg. She grew up in Upper Darby and graduated Archbishop Prendergast High School in 1979. Her strong spirit, love of family, generosity, sense of humor and beautiful smile will remain in the hearts of her family and friends. Our memories will always be filled with Colleen’s love of the Jersey shore and especially ‘Irish Weekend’. Colleen was the devoted wife of Frank Steenberg for 34 years; loving mother of Jennifer and Michele (James) Shiel; a doting grandmother (G-mom) to Abby, Emma, Gavin and Aidan. She is also survived by her adoring siblings, Betsy (Robert) Bodine, Kathy (James) Elliott and Michael. She will be missed by in-laws, Kenny (Anne) Steenberg, Marie (Steve) DeStefano, Barbara (Ted) Fine, Diane (Steve) Woodland and many dear nephews, nieces and cousins. Relatives and friends are invited to her Visitation, Friday, May 6, 2016 at 9:30am and to her Funeral Mass at 11 AM in St. Pius X Church, 220 Lawrence Rd., Broomall, PA 19008. 1928 - 2016 Donald D. White Sr. Longtime resident of Ridley Park. Mr. White passed away peacefully in his sleep on May 2, 2016 at the age of 87. Beloved husband of the late Anna (nee Warnock). Worl, Bruce M.* - Aston  
Bruce M. Worl of Aston, passed peacefully on April 27, 2016. Bruce worked as a truck driver for Klose Brothers Trucking Co. for 44 years. He served in the Army during WWII his tour included China, Burma, India Theater. Bruce was the husband of the love of his life, his late wife of 67 years Hazel Worl ( nee Dickerson). Anderson, Mary* - Swarthmore  
Mary Anderson (nee Brown) of Swarthmore passed away peacefully on April 26, 2016 after a short illness. Mary was born in Croswell, MI in 1931, the youngest of eight children. She attended Port Huron Junior College and Michigan State University and later was a newspaper reporter for the Port Huron News and the Chicago Sun Times. She had a notable career which included an extensive personal interview with Pat Nixon. Mary was an editor/writer in the University Relations Department of Widener University for seventeen years and retired in1999. She was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church and served there in numerous volunteer capacities. She also volunteered at CHOP and the Swarthmore Public Library and was a member of Chapter P of PEO. Mary was predeceased by her husband of 43 years, Robert Frederick Anderson. She is survived by her son, Robert Bruce Anderson, her daughter Amanda Kate Anderson, her daughter in law Mary Ellen Anderson, and two grandsons, Sam and James. Mary will be remembered with love and her kindness, intelligence, warmth and wit greatly missed by many other relatives and friends. A funeral service will be held at Trinity Episcopal Church in Swarthmore on Saturday, May 7 at 11 a.m., followed by a light lunch. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Crozer Keystone Hospice Program, 200 West Sproul Rd., Springfield, PA, 19064 or Trinity Episcopal Church, Swarthmore.
