Earl Lynn Bennett Jr.

Earl Lynn Bennett, Jr. Longtime Upper Chichester resident Earl Lynn Bennett, Jr., age 86, died March 10, 2013 at Crozer Chester Medical Center in Upland. Earl was born in Linwood and has been a resident of Boothwyn, Upper Chichester for 61 years. He was a 1945 graduate of Chichester High School and attended Temple University and Widener University. During high school he spent the summer in Idaho as a worker with the Forest Rangers and spent 11 days fighting a forest fire. An active Boy Scout, Earl was an avid fisherman and hunter. Earl served in the US Army during WWII with the 351st Infantry 88th Division in Italy. He was employed by The Sun Oil Company as a supervisor in the accounting department for 36 years retiring in 1984. He was a past member and President of the Upper Chichester Water Authority and served as chairman of the Upper Chichester Civil Service. He served many years as church treasurer and a member of the Board of Trustees at Linwood Heights United Methodist Church. He was the son of the late Earl L. and Katherine (Porter) Bennett and father of the late Mark Bennett. Survivors: His loving wife of 63 years: Evelyn H. Hull Bennett, his son David A. Bennett (Sandra), his sister Janet Knoerzer, grandchildren: John, James, Allen, and Mary Ann. Vistation: Thursday from 9:30-10:45am at Nolan-Fidale Funeral Home.
