James E. Leary

James E. Leary Longtime Ridley Park Resident Mr. James E. Leary died peacefully on April 3, 2014 at the age of 86 while surrounded by his loving family. Jim was raised in S.W. Philadelphia where he was active with Leary Roofing, the family business. He was the beloved husband of the late Ann M. (nee Cross). Also, predeceased by his son in law Lou Tribuiani, and siblings: Harry, Joe, Eddie, Roy (twin brother) and Florence. Jim was a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII. He played semi pro football for the Blue Bells in S.W. Philadelphia and was a 34 year employee of Reading/Conrail Railroad. Jim enjoyed time with his family at his summer home at the Jersey Shore. He was also an avid Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies fan. Survivors: Devoted father of Lee (Tom) Dorazo, Lynn (Jack) Friedhofer, Laurie Tribuiani and Jim (Danielle) Leary. Dear brother of Bob Leary. He was Pop Pop to nine grandchildren: Jennifer, Jack, Amanda, Tommy, Kevin, Tiffany, Taylor, Kiley, Peyton and two great grandchildren: Zachary and Jayden. Viewing: Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Tuesday evening, 7-9p.m. & Wednesday, after 9a.m., at the Cavanagh Family Funeral Home, 301 Chester Pike, Norwood. Service: Funeral Service Wednesday, 10a.m. at the Cavanagh Family Funeral Home, 301 Chester Pike, Norwood. Burial: SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery.
