Lewis W. Conover Sr.

Lewis W. "Lew" Conover, Sr. Veteran of the U.S. Navy and Air Force Lewis W. "Lew" Conover, Sr. of Folcroft, passed away on April 24, 2013. He was the son of the late Lewis H. and Anna (nee Kavanagh) Conover. Lew was an avid cat lover who enjoyed working on cars, watching NASCAR and was very fond of Cadillac's and reading mystery novels. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force from 1955 to 1958. Also, he served in the U.S. Navy from 1987 to 1989. In 1989 he became a recruiter for the Navy until his retirement in 1996. Lew was predeceased by his beloved wife of 51 years, Margaret A. and his sister Anna Best. Survivors: Loving father of Lewis "Skip" Conover and Maryann (Matt) Dunn. Loving grandfather of Kristen (Joe) Whomsley, Billy, Kelley, Lewis, Eric and Sean. Great-grandfather of Nathan, Julian, Cameron and Desiree', Brother of Peggy Craner and Diane Thomas. Services: Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Monday, from 12pm to 2pm, at the Cavanagh Family Funeral Home, 301 Chester Pike, Norwood. Interment: private proceeded by cremation with confidence at Cavanagh's. In lieu of flowers: donations may be made in Lew's name to the Coatesville VA Medical Center, 1400 Blackhorse Hill Road, Coatesville, PA 19320
