Marjorie Jane Ailes

Marjorie Jane Ailes Marjorie Jane Ailes peacefully departed this life on April 20, 2013. Marje will be remembered as a kind, caring and compassionate person by her family, friends and coworkers. She remained firmly rooted in her humble West Virginia country values. After graduating from Ohio University, Marje taught art in the Ohio public schools and later moved to Media where she created and operated the New Leaf bookshop. She then began working for Delaware County Community College in 1981. Her commitment to excellence enabled her to be instrumental in producing quality educational programming for the college and community. Her true passion was for the annual spring Elder Week. Her friends and colleagues will miss her. Marje was an adventurer and explorer. She enjoyed white water rafting in West Virginia, dog sledding in Minnesota, hiking in Colorado and exploring the coast of Maine. Her more recent unique adventures included operating a bulldozer at "Dig This" in Steamboat Springs, summiting the 14,309 foot Uncompaghre Peak in south central Colorado and hiking the Grand Canyon. Enjoyment was found relaxing with crossword puzzles, music and her cats - Bandit, Smokey, and Lucky. She was an ardent supporter of the arts and a number of charities. Countless people and animals have benefitted from her unselfish generosity. She was particularly fond of the Christmas holidays, finding true joy in giving to others and absorbing the peace and serenity of Blackwater Falls State Park near Davis, WV.
