Mauro Marchini

Mauro "Don " "Rocky" Marchini Mauro "Don " "Rocky" Marchini, age 90, of Ridley Park formerly of Darby passed away on June 21, 2013. He served in the Navy during WW ll aboard the USS Wakefield where he was on the Navy Boxing Team and was trained by Jack Dempsey. He later owned the Colonial Village Market in Folsom. A resident of Ridley Park for over 40 years he served on the Ridley Park Council for 8 years as Chairman of Public Safety. He enjoyed watching boxing and college football on TV. Rocky was a lifetime member of the All State VFW Post 3614. After his retirement he enjoyed singing Italian songs on Saturday Evenings at Sam's Saloon in Glenolden. Born in Italy he was the son of the late Maria and Antonio Marchini and brother of the late Thomas and Lecy. Survivors: his beloved wife Elena (nee Pasquini), his sons Donald and Thomas, 3 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Funeral Mass: 11 a.m., Thurs., St Madeline Church, Penn St and Morton Ave. Ridley Park, PA. 19078. Entombment: SS. Peter and Paul Garden Mausoleum.
