Thomas Julian Groch

Thomas Julian Groch, age 89, died August 20, 2013 at his home in Chester. Thomas was born and lived in Frankford, NY for many years before moving to Chester where he has been a resident for the past 60 years. He was employed and a member of IBEW Local Union 245 Toledo, OH as an electrician and also worked for the City of Chester for the past 17 years as n electrical inspector retiring in 2012. Tom was a US Marine Corps Veteran serving in WWII, a member of the Knights of Columbus at St. Katharine Drexel Church and a lifelong member of the Marine Corp League in Upland. He enjoyed playing pinochle, reading, and spending time with his family and pets. He was the son of the late Julian and Barbara Swider Groch, husband of the late Kathleen Fennell Groch, father of the late Mary Beth and Michael Groch and brother of the late Chester Groch and Sophie Williams. Survivors: His children Kathleen Borcky (Len), Tom Groch Jr. (Terri), Debbie Butcher (Eric), and GySgt. Dave Groch (Nicola), Grandchildren, Lenny, Michael, Jackie, Jessica, Samantha, Ashley, and Katie and Great Grandchildren Ava, Brett, Luke, Charlie, Riley, and Isabella. Funeral Service: Saturday, 11:00 am, at Nolan-Fidale Funeral Home Ltd., 5980 Chichester Ave., Aston Burial: Private Visitation: Friday evening, from 7-9:00pm and Saturday morning, from 10-10:45am, at the funeral home.
