Dear Sue,

Somehow I did not see the obituary notice in the paper several weeks ago and thus am late in telling you how much I enjoyed working with Garrett in those glorious DYLUX days in the late 1960s.

I had many great trips with Garrett, especially the ones to Beale AFB in Marysville, CA. We were never stuck for things to converse about, and I admired his enthusiasm and dedication to get things done.

Where have we been all these years since? As you may recall, I spent nearly ten years alone after Nicki died, but in 1991 I married Angela, whom I had known since 1969, when I worked with her husband in Munich. We have had a great time together; the house and garden bloomed until we moved into a condo in Brandywine Park, near the local zoo. Fortunately we have been in good health and have been able to travel and enjoy life. I managed to fill my time up with consulting, writing a book and working on my stamp collection. I turned my technical papers over to the Hagley Foundation, and spend some time organizing them. This again brings back memories.

Again, my deep sympathy to you and your family. If you ever get to Wilmington, please let me know so that we can chat about old times.

Sincerely,

Rolf
