Albert R. Marchetti, 91, died Thursday, February 27, 2014 at Fair Acres, Lima, PA.|
Born in Philadelphia, he was a longtime resident of Darby before moving to Aldan. He was a graduate of Darby High School, Class of 1941 where he played Football and Basketball. Mr. Marchetti was employed as a Chemist's Assistant at E.I. DuPont in Philadelphia.
He served in the Navy during World War II aboard the USS Amesbury where he participated in the D-Day Invasion.
His memberships included Blessed Virgin Mary Church, Darby and Darby Fire Patrol No. 2 where he was a Life Member.
Son of John R. Marchetti, Sr. and Ida Castelli Marchetti he is survived by his brother John Robert Marchetti, Jr., 2 nieces Joan DiSalvatore and Marie Marchetti, 1 nephew John Marchetti, III and 5 great nieces and nephews.
The Funeral Mass will be Celebrated Thursday 10am at Holy Spirit Church, Sharon Ave and School Street, Sharon Hill, PA where friends may call after 9:15am.
Burial will be in SS Peter and Paul Cem.
