Apolinar de la Cruz

Dr. Apolinar de la Cruz Dr. Apolinar de la Cruz passed away peacefully on August 19, 2012. Born in the Philippines, he was one of 18 children of the late Aurelio and Soledad de la Cruz. He resided in King of Prussia with his loving wife Mercedes Tita de la Cruz (Marcelo) and married for 54 years. Dr. de la Cruz, an internist, practiced Emergency Medicine at Bryn Mawr Hospital for 30 years. He was a graduate of University of the Philippines College of Medicine and served his residency at Bryn Mawr Hospital and Vassar Hospital in Poughkeepsie, NY. He was a past member of The PA Medical Society. Survivors: He was the dear father of Aurora Burg (Stephen) of Baltimore, MD, Amanda Lovely (William) of Mashpee, MA and Alex de la Cruz (Keri) of Exton, PA; cherished grandfather of Ryan Lovely, Brianna Mangino, Andrew Lovely, Kelsey Hartsell, Rachel Lovely and Matthew de la Cruz; many wonderful nieces and nephews also survive him. His children and grandchildren were the most important and joyful part of his life. Visitation: Relatives and friends are invited to Apolinar's Life Celebration at Boyd- Horrox of Norristown, 200 W. Germantown Pike, 610-277-7000 on Friday, August 24, 2012 from 4 to 7 PM. Interment is private.
