Dear Gussie, I always liked you! You showed me what is was to be tough but kind, considerate and sensitive at the same time. You had some wonderful qualities and I´m sure you were a great Father and husband.
I think about you often and the fun we had with our friends going to the Holy Cross dances, the carnivals at Clifton Field and the fireworks. I´m so glad you included me in your circle of friends. I always enjoyed being with you! May God always protect you and your family.

Gus was a dear friend and I really knew him well. I will always have a great respect and many fond memories. I think about him often. We me in first grade at Holy Cross and I always considered him be cool and a close friend. He always made me feel good about myself and always had very kind words for me. Throughout first grade we had a very nice group of close friends. Gus, Johnny High, Fr. Frank Devlin, Peggy, Anna, and more. It was a real hodgepodge of personalities. I remember going to the Clifton carnivals, fireworks at Clifton field and of course the dances together. Gus showed me that you can be strong and soft at the same time. He also taught me to be tolerant of others but to take a stand when you need to. He was funny and knew a lot about people. I was always proud to consider him a good friend!

Gus, peace be with you and I hope I make it to heaven and pick up where we left off!

I learned of Gussie’s passing not to long ago. I wish I knew at the time so I could have paid my respects. Gus was a bit of a tough guy when we were kids but I never saw him hurt anyone. He was kind, he was seriously a friend to everyone in Westbrook Park, including the parents. I honor him for being the fair, considerate and kind person he was. I really enjoyed being with him Whenever I could be. He was truly a “good guy”! Everyone that knew him respected his ability to make friends with everyone, just as I did. I remember when Gussie and Charlotte were boyfriend and girlfriend. I’ll so glad they married because he always made it clear that Charlotte was the only girl he loved!!! God Bless Charlotte and the Ranieri family.

Gus touched so many hearts in his life time. He was one to always ask how your day was going, always had a smile on his face even when he was in pain, He never showed it, A hard working man and such a GREAT family man! His family always came first. He would open his arms and give them a big hug as soon as he would see them. I know how much they are hurting right now and I am so sorry for your loss! To Charlotte, I have no words that can help ease your pain. You were the love of his life and vice versa. I WILL KEEP ALL OF YOU IN MY PRAYERS AND HOPE THAT WILL EASE SOME OF YOUR SUFFERING! God Bless You and R.I.P. Gus! Sending lots of love
