Barbara W. Domingos-Roccia,age 69 Barbara W. Domingos-Roccia, age 69, of Media, PA. died June 19, 2013. Barbara was born in Media, PA., the daughter of Joseph Burr and Marjorie Wiley Wenlock on November 29, 1943. Barbara lived in Media for most of her life and was residing in Media when she passed away. She was also a resident of Wallingford, PA. for approximately fifteen years. Barbara graduated from West Chester University with a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education in 1965 and West Chester Univ. with a Master of Education in Secondary Guidance and Counseling in 1974. Bryn Mawr College with a Doctor of Philosophy in 1991 and from Widener University with a Postdoctoral Fellowship in Neuropsychology in 1996. She was a member of the First United Methodist church of Media for her entire life. Barbara was self-employed as a Neuropsychologist and had a private practice in Paoli, PA. She also worked as an Adjunct Professor at Immaculata University. She was a member of the National Academy of Neuropsychology and the American Board of School Neuropsychology. Prior to being self-employed she enjoyed a long, fulfilling career in education working as a psychologist at the Delaware County Intermediate Unit in their Special Programs Division and Aston Alternative Occupational School. She was a licensed Psychologist in both Pennsylvania and Delaware. Barbara loved her work. Her attention to detail and commitment to helping others, made a difference in the lives of many students and clients. Barbara volunteered and was on the Board of the Media Theatre. She was also a member of the Board of Health in Media. Barbara was an avid supporter of the arts. She enjoyed music, theatre and believed in the power of the arts to bring communities together. She enjoyed writing and has co-written several professional articles. She was an excellent bridge player! She loved to debate politics. Mostly, she loved spending time with her family. Barbara lived her life with an open heart and generous spirit. She had a playful sense of humor and could make any mundane task fun. She was extremely loyal and kind. She always had time to spend with someone in need and always had wise words of comfort. She was loved by so many and will be missed. Survivors: Husband, Jeffrey Roccia. daughter, Susan Domingos of Media, PA. Step-daughters: Cheri Anderson (Jim) of Cambridge, MD. and Lisa Autry (Bob) of Spartanburg, SC. step-grandchildren Caitlyn, Hannah and Ryan and her dear friend May Steinmetz. Visitation: Monday evening, from 7 to 9 PM., at the Rigby Harting & Hagan Funeral Home, 15 E. Fourth St., Media, PA. and again Tuesday morning, from 9 to 10 AM, at the First United Methodist Church of Media, 350 West State St., Media.
