Caroline DiPasqua Obituary

Caroline Ann DiPasqua "Pat" (nee Patterson) Caroline Ann DiPasqua "Pat" (nee Patterson) of Newtown Square, PA passed away on April 9, 2013. Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Elmer R. and Irene O. Patterson (nee Miller). She was predeceased by her brother E. Robert Patterson and sister Irene Lutz. Caroline graduated from John Bartram High School in January, 1947 where she excelled in sports with field hockey as her primary sport. She attended Temple University and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration in January, 1952. Caroline enjoyed the pleasures of caring for her children through the years. She was the official driver for sports, band, scouts, dance classes, piano and organ lessons, and little league. She was also active with the Girl Scouts including troop leader and township leader for 29 years. She was a member of the Philadelphia Horticultural Society and enjoyed spending time in her gardens. She embarked on a quilting career and began teaching both in the classroom and at home. She enjoyed quilting so much that she started a business called Victoria's Hope Chest, where she created, displayed and sold custom quilts from 1983-1991. She was also the founding member and President of the Main Line Quilters and was also involved as a member of Calico Cutters. Caroline loved her homes in Ocean City, NJ and Sanibel, FL. She enjoyed boating and was a member of the women's auxiliary named the Mainstays where she was President from 1976-77 and where she received an award of merit called the Dixiecup Award. Survivors: Loving wife of Angelo A. DiPasqua, having just celebrated 60 years of marriage on April 6. She enjoyed the blessings of having 5 children, Patricia A. Engelman (Steven), Christopher A. DiPasqua (Theresa), Constance R. Trusko (Stephen), Stephen A. DiPasqua (Sandra) and David D. DiPasqua (Alyson) and her grandchildren Sonia, Anna, Richard, Margaret, Alexander, Robert, Alexis, David Jr., Samuel and Charles. Services: Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing Sunday, April 14, 2013, 3-5 PM and 7-9 PM, The Donohue Funeral Home, 3300 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square (610) 353-6300, and Monday, April 15, 2013, from 10-10:50 AM, St. Anastasia Church, 3301 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, followed by her Funeral Mass at 11 AM.
