Charles Gray Obituary

Charles C. Gray, Jr. Charles C. Gray, Jr passed away on June 14, 2013 after a brief hospitalization. He was born in Bryn Mawr in 1943 to the late Virginia and Charles Gray. He was raised in Rosemont, graduating from Radnor High School where he was quarterback for the football team and captain of the track team. After graduating from Shaw University in North Carolina, Charles spent two years in the Peace Corps serving in Nigeria. Charles returned to Radnor where his two daughters were raised. While living in Radnor he was employed by Sesame Street and Villanova University. He also served on the Radnor School Board. Charles spent his last twenty five years of employment as a community relations specialist for Delaware County's Juvenile Court and as Director of the Juvenile Justice Office for the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency in Harrisburg. Upon moving to Chester in the 1980's Charles committed himself to serving on many boards including The Chester Educational Foundation, The Chester Fund for the School of the Arts, The Chester Housing Authority, Statewide Weed and Seed Advisory Board, Pennsylvania State Board of Control for Chester Upland School District, Penn State Advisory Board and Widener University Partnership School. Survivors: his wife Nancy nee Crane Gray, his daughters Marlissa (Michael) Harrison and Constance Gray, his brothers William (Brenda), Ralph (Marge) and Tom Gray and three grandchildren Michael, Jadyn, Jurnee Harrison. Funeral Service: Relatives and Friends are invited to attend on Thursday at 11:00 A.M. at The Highway of Christ Church 712-722 Welsh St. Chester where friends may call from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M.
