David Babb Obituary

David Melvin Babb, 66, of Denver, PA, formerly of Upper Darby and Springfield, PA passed away on August 9, 2013.
Born in 1947, David was the loving son of the late Marian (Rowand) Babb and the late George H. Babb.
He was a graduate of Springfield High School and earned his degree in business from St. Joseph's University.
David was a published poet and writer, and a recipient of the George Washington Freedoms Foundation Medal for his essay on what it meant to him to be an American. He was an avid music lover, a Mason (Mozart Lodge) and a proud Vietnam-era disabled Navy veteran.
David never stopped searching for the truth. He was also my big brother. Above all, he cherished his family.
He is survived by his sister Jane, brother-in-law Peter R. Certo and nephew, Peter.
"Your life and spirit will never be forgotten, Unky Dave."
In lieu of flowers, donations accepted in his memory to the Disabled American Veterans, P.O. Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250-0301.
Interment private.
Arrangements by The Donohue Funeral Home, 8401 West Chester Pike, Upper Darby, PA 19082, 610-449-0300.

I knew Dave in the USN both at school and onboard the USS Little Rock. I only recently was aware of his passing. He is missed- a gentle thoughtful soul has been lost. He was part of my sanity in those times. RIP my friend. Mike Hesedahl -Salem Oregon

So sorry about your loss of a brother. Gosh Dave was a great kid. I too had lots of classes with him. I remember him as being funny but somewhat shy and smart and always willing to help people like me. God bless you Dave and I hope you are at peace. Always thought he was handsome besides being nice and that was so important in high school.
