Edward Michael Cavanaugh Obituary
Edward Michael Cavanaugh, 84 Of Indian Wells Edward Michael Cavanaugh, 84, died Thursday, October 25, 2012 at Waccamaw Community Hospital. Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late James and Regina Cavanaugh. Mr. Cavanaugh was a U.S. Navy veteran. He had retired in 1989 from Philadelphia Electric Co. after 35 years of service. An avid golfer, he founded the "Stop and Smell the Roses" group in 1958 and it continues to this day. He retired to the area in 1991 moving from Ridley Park, PA. Mr. Cavanaugh was a member of the Moose Lodge, American Legion and the VFW. His wife of 51 years Doris, his son Patrick, his grandson Scott M. McQuade and his sisters Helen Gasparro and Jean Seagraves all preceded him in death. Surviving are his daughters Peggy McQuade of Holmes, PA and Dodie Suggs of Conway, SC; grandchildren Patrick J. Cavanaugh of Albuquerque, NM, Paul E. McQuade of Holmes, PA and Katelyn Suggs of Conway, SC; great-grandchildren Samantha McQuade and Paul McQuade Jr.; sister Rose Wheeland of Williamsport, PA; brother James Cavanaugh of Murrells Inlet, SC; good friend Shelby Singleton of Surfside Beach, SC; many nieces and nephews. Funeral Mass 10 AM Monday, October 29, 2012 at St. Michael Catholic Church. Visitation: The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the service at the church.
