Ellen G. Collins Ellen G. Collins, 87, of Newtown Square, passed away on Monday December 30, 2013 at Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill. Born on February 24, 1926 in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Ellen (Moyer) Steele. She was the widow of the love of her life Henry Collins, Jr. and was preceded in death by her dear friend Jean Whitaker. She was a graduate of Dobbins High School, Philadelphia and a beautician by trade. She spent 50 years happily conversing and pleasing her many clients. She was a devoted member of St. Anastasia Parish, Newtown Square and a volunteer for Meals on Wheels. Ellen had many friends and family whom she treated with kindness and love...even while she was beating them playing pinochle. Survivors: Her beloved son, Henry B. Collins and his wife Nancy Boker, of Camp Hill, her grandchildren, Christina and husband Joe, Mark and wife Kelly, and 5 great grandchildren who were the apples of her eye. Memorial Mass: Will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., on Thursday, January 9, 2014, in St. Anastasia Catholic Church, 3301 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, with Rev. Michael A. Colagreco as celebrant. Visitation: The family will receive friends for a visitation in the church on Thursday, from 10:30 a.m., until the time of the mass. Burial: will be private and held at the convenience of the family in Holy Cross Cemetery, Yeadon. Arr.: Myers-Harner Funeral Home, 1903 Market St., Camp Hill, is handling funeral arrangements.
