Frank Gane Obituary

F. Randolph Gane Mr. Frank Randolph "Doc" Gane, 95, of St. Simons Island, Glynn County, GA, passed away at the Hospice of the Golden Isles Friday, July 19, 2013. Mr. Gane was born October 12, 1917 in Bryn Mawr, PA to the late Harry Gane and Anna Fitz Randolph Gane. Prior to moving to Georgia, he was a longtime resident of Newtown Square, PA and West Chester, PA. Mr. Gane is a proud veteran of the US Army and served during World War II in Alaska, the Philippines liberation, and the occupation of Japan. He was an accountant by profession. Mr. Gane is known to be a dedicated husband and father, caregiver to others in times of difficulty, of impeccable honesty, true to his commitments, and in his eldest years a sweet old man. In addition to Mr. Gane's parents he is preceded in death by his wife and mother of his children, Leah Woollerton Gane, and second wife, Elizabeth H. Gane. He is also preceded in death by his son F. Randolph Gane, Jr., and his siblings Mildred, Bill, Fred, Eleanor, Jim, and Mary. Survivors: His siblings Bob, Peggy, and Jane, his son Brad and wife Tamara, of St. Simons Island, GA; and three grandchildren, Michael, Lisa, and Lauren. Mr. Gane's memorialization will be by cremation. His cremains will be placed in the columbarium of St. Albans Episcopal Church in Newtown Square, PA. Those wishing to make a memorial in his name: are invited to consider the Hospice of the Golden Isles, 1692 Glynco Parkway, Brunswick, and GA. 31525. The arrangements for Mr. Gane have been entrusted to Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home and Oglethorpe Crematorium. www.edomillerandsons.com
