Franklin W. Smith, 81 Franklin W. Smith, 81 of Media, PA, passed peacefully at Taylor Hospice on Jan. 11, 2013. Born in Philadelphia, PA he was the son of the late Harry N. and Beatrice Smith, raised in East Lansdowne, PA and resided in Media, PA since 1958. Frank attended Lansdowne High School and after graduation in 1949, he served in the U.S. Navy. He was employed at William J. Dornan Printing, Inc. as a phototypographer until his retirement in 1993. After retirement, Frank volunteered at the National Toy Train Museum, Crozer Hospital, and the Senior Community Services- The Schoolhouse Center. His hobbies included: toy trains, computers and digital photography. Additionally, Frank enjoyed being with family and friends, especially his extended family at the Upper Providence Grille. Frank was pre-deceased in death by his loving wife Lucille (Light) who died in 1997 after 40 years of marriage, and brothers Walter N. and Edward Smith. Survivors: his children, Linda, Stephen and David (Elizabeth) Smith, sister Beatrice Stutz of Naples, Fl and grandchildren Robert, Jacob, Warren, Rebecca Bitterman, and Nicole Smith. Services: Calling Thursday, Jan.17, 2013, 9:30-10:30am followed by service at Rigby Harting & Hagan Funeral Home, 15 E. 4th Street, Media, PA.
