Helen G. Doherty

Helen G. Doherty (nee Duffy), 82, died January 2, 2014 at the Broomall Rehab and Nursing Center. Born and raised in Clifton Heights, she had been of resident of Broomall the past 53 years. Helen was a graduate of Notre Dame High School, Class of 1949. She attended Mass daily at St. Anastasia Church in Newtown Square where she also served as a Eucharistic Minister.
Helen enjoyed baking, reading and always remembering family and friends with greeting cards on their special occasions. She loved spending time with her family, especially the grandchildren.
Helen was the wife of the late James Doherty, her husband of 47 years at the time of his death in 2001.
Survivors: Include her devoted children Mary Ann Dougherty, Helen Marie Doherty, Sheila Dorsey, William Doherty, Patricia Andrews and Margaret Forbes; her loving sister Elizabeth "Betty" Traband, sister in law Winifred Duffy and 10 grandchildren.
Funeral Mass: Monday at 11 a.m., St. Anastasia Church, West Chester Pike and Radnor Rd., Newtown Square, PA 19073.
Visitation: Family and friends may visit Sunday, 4-6 p.m. and Monday, 9:15-10:15 a.m., at the DOYLE-STONELAKE FUNERAL HOME, 85 E. Baltimore Ave., Lansdowne, PA 19050 .
Interment: SS Peter & Paul Cem.
