Jean Marie (Connors) Flynn Devoted, Renowned Educator in Delaware County Jean Marie Flynn, age 82, a devoted school teacher and mother died April 7, 2014 at home surrounded by her loving family. Born and raised in Chester, Jean attended the old St. Roberts Grammar School, graduated in 1949 from Notre Dame Girls High School in Moylan and then graduated from Immaculata College in 1953 with degrees in English, Art and Social Studies. She went on to study at Marywood College in Scranton, PA, Temple University in Philadelphia and Widener University in Chester. Her teaching career spanned for 53 years in upper level Chester Schools and 30 plus years in Catholic schools for the Archdiocese of Philadephia. She taught for 23 years at St. Roberts School (now St. Katharine Drexel Academy), where over 2,000 students can claim to have been taught by Mrs. Flynn. She was the daughter of the late J. Lee and Regina (Haller) Connors. She was the wife of the late Thomas V. Flynn, Jr. who died in 2003 and wife of the late Arthur J. Arseneault. Survivors: Three Children: Karen L. Morgan (Curtis), Thomas V. Flynn (Kathryn), and Timothy V. Flynn (Natalie). 5 Grandchildren: Katy, Connor, Elizabeth, Ian, and Alexander. Visitation: Saturday, April 12, 2014, from 10:00a.m. -12:00p.m. at St. Cornelius the Centurion at Valley Forge Military Academy & College, 1001 Eagle Road, Wayne, PA 19087. Funeral Mass: Saturday, 12p.m. at St. Cornelius the Centurion. Burial: Private. In lieu of flowers: Donations may be made to the St. James Alumni Association, 1499 E. 9th St., Eddystone, PA 19022.
