Jesse Staten, Sr. Jesse Staten, Sr. age 92 of Chester, Pa. quietly left this earth surrounded by his family on March 7. 2013 at his daughter's home in Chester. Mr. Staten was born in Waycross, Georgia to the late Turner Staten and Mazie Gilliard Staten and attended the Central High School there as well. He worked as a supervisor at Kimberly-Clark for many years before his retirement. Mr. Staten was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Chester where he served as an usher. He was a United States army veteran serving during World War II where he received The World War II Victory Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Asiatic Pacific Service Medal with 3 Bronze Stars. In addition to his parents, Mr. Staten was also predeceased by his wife Ethel Lee King Staten. Survivors: His wonderful memory will be cherished by his children: Patricia A. Smith, Jesse C. Staten, Jr., (Cynthia), and Karen Denise Staten-Bowie, 4 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, 1 granddaughter-in-law, 1 grandson-in-law, god-son Reginald Rawls, many other relatives and friends. Service: Thursday March 14. 2013 11:00 am at Earl L. Foster Funeral Home 1100 Kerlin St. Chester. Viewing: 9:00 - 11:00 am. Final graveside service will be on Saturday March 16. 2013 11:00 am At Hazard Hill Cemetery in Waycross, Georgia.
