Joan Jane Daliessio

Joan Jane Wotring Johnson Daliessio, age 77, of Upper Chichester, PA, passed away on January 24, 2014, with her loving family by her side.
She was born and raised in Eddystone, PA, to her late father, Rudolf Wotring Johnson, and her mother, Jane M. Morawski Johnson, who lived with her. She is also predeceased by her sister Maria Boyle.
She married the love of her life, Thomas Christopher Daliessio, in 1955 and moved to Upper Chichester, where she spent the remainder of her life raising her family. Joan served as chairwoman for the American Heart Association of Upper Chichester for many years and was a volunteer in the local schools where she was instrumental in the establishment of a Head Start Program in 1965.
Joan was employed by the Media District Court, where she served as court clerk for several years before retiring to care for her husband, "Tommy," who died in 1998. Joan epitomized the true spirit of giving and her life was filled with Love.
Joan loved her family above all else and will eternally be in the hearts of her two daughters and sons-in-law: Susan J. Grasty and Charles Grasty of Bethel and Karen M. Cardow and Edward Cardow of Upper Chichester. Her five grandchildren were the lights of her life, and she will forever be with them: Sarah, Emily, and Samantha Cardow; Charlie and Tom Grasty. She is also survived by her mother, Jane, who lived with her. Joan will be sadly missed by her family and care givers who will think of her often with love and a smile.
Services: Tuesday, 11 a.m. at the Pagano Funeral Home, 3711 Foulk Road, Garnet Valley, PA.
Visitation: Tuesday, 9:30-11 a.m. at the Pagano Funeral Home, Garnet Valley, PA.
Interment: Private at Lawn Croft Cemetery.
