Joseph N. DeGenova, 90 Of Swarthmore Joseph N. DeGenova, 90, died October 20, 2012 at Vitas Hospice. Mr. DeGenova was the son of Nicholas and Barbara (nee Perri) DeGenova. After graduating South Philadelphia High School, he enlisted in the Army.He served in the Pacific Theater during World War II. After the War, he attended art school while working as a tailor.He worked as a tailor until his retirement in the early 1980s. After retirement, he enjoyed many years of teaching art. He was an active member of Herbert W. Best VFW Post #928 in Folsom and served as Poppy Chairperson for 10 years.He was a volunteer at Crozer Chester Medical Center for 11 years. In 1954, he married Rita (nee LaPalomento). They were married until her death in 2010. He was the brother of the late John DeGenova. Survivors: His daughters Barbara DeGenova of Rockaway, NJ and Stella DeGenova of Broomall; his grandchildren Sarah, Laura, Justin, Christina and Jeremy; 3 great-grandchildren; his sister-in-law and brother-in-law Carmella and Raymond DiPrimeo of Sewell, NJ. Service: Relatives and friends are invited to his Funeral Mass on Thursday at 10:30 AM in Notre Dame de Lourdes Church, 950 Fairview Rd., Swarthmore.Visitation: Friends may call after 9 AM at the church.
