Patricia Sharp Jefferis

Patricia Sharp Jefferis, MS, LCSW April 10, 1943 - November 18, 2012 Patricia Sharp Jefferis, was born April 10, 1943 to the late Wallace and Trixis Osborne in Eltham, England. She and her parents arrived in the United States in 1957, residing in Texas. Patricia's mother would tell many stories highlighting her carrying Patricia into bomb shelters and diving in phone booths to avoid German planes attacking London. The historical record they provided describing post-war England and the hard times they encountered was educational and overwhelming. Patricia and her parents proudly became citizens of the United States. Patricia graduated with a B.A. double major (Philosophy and Psychology) from the University of Delaware. From there, she earned a Master of Social Science Degree at Bryn Mawr College before attending The Pennsylvania Gestalt Center for Psychotherapy and Training where she met many future colleagues and friends. Patricia practiced in the Wilmington area for many years, serving her clients with dignity and caring. At times, her beloved Golden Retriever, Fenway, when invited, would serve as an assistant therapist, always a discrete listener and never interrupting. Patricia will be greatly missed by her family, friends, colleagues, and clients. Survivors: Her husband Daniel; daughter Michelle Cockerham and her children Hailey and Cole of Wilmington, DE; sons Joseph Poston and his wife Roseanne, and their children Ryan and Reese of Collegeville, PA, James Poston and his wife Dea and a daughter on the way of Wilmington, DE; brother Anthony Osborne and his wife Yana and their children Luc, Iraoslav and Michaela of Geneva, Switzerland; and extended family Jennifer and Andy Floor, Dan Jefferis, and granddaughter Erin. Viewing will be held on Friday, Novemeber 23rd 7 to 9 PM at the McCrery & Harra Funeral Home, 3924 Concord Pike (Rt. 202, S. of Silverside Rd.), Wilmington, DE 19803. Interment will be private.
