Richard M. Geiger, 55|
Richard M. Geiger of Aldan, PA moved to Geigertown, PA 12 years ago with his wife and 4 children, passed away peacefully at his home in Geigertown early Wednesday morning, July 2, 2014.
Richard was a 1977 Lansdowne-Aldan High School graduate and joined the Primos-Secane-Westbrook Park Fire Company #5 where he was an active Crew Member, Truck Lieutenant, President, Board Member, Chairman of the Board and Relief Association Delegate Chairman for fund drive. He worked for Delaware County Emergency Services as a Police and Fire Dispatcher. While working there he became a part time police officer for East Lansdowne. He also volunteered on the ambulance for the Clifton Heights Fire Co. After graduating from the Police Academy he began work at West Goshen Township where he was promoted to Sergeant in 1999 and served his 26 years. He was the Chief Crisis Negotiator for the West Chester Regional Emergency Response Team. He was very involved in church life at Petra Christian Fellowship where he was head of the Safety Team, Assistant Region Leader, Administration Leader for Cleansing Streams and more.
He is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, D'Lury Janine; his children, Richard Swain Mason and his wife Janice Marie, Emily Patricia Coppa and her husband Vincent Anthony Coppa, Sean Luke and Grace Janine; Granddaughter Haily Faith Coppa; his father Fredrick Miliken and mother Joan Mason; brother David Brian Geiger and sisters Carol Ann Geiger and Gail Suzanne Micucci along with other relatives and friends.
Services: Visitation, Tuesday July 8, with the family from 6-8pm with Honor Guard. Wednesday, July 9, Memorial Service from 6:30-7:30 pm followed by a Reception from7:30-9:30pm with family and friends.
All services will take place at Petra Christian Fellowship Church, 565 Airport Road, New Holland, PA 17557, 717-354-5394
Interment will be private.
