Robert Wynne Obituary

Robert F. Wynne, 69, a resident of Broomall, PA passed away peacefully at his home on July 17, 2013.
Bob was a direct descendent of Dr. Thomas Wynne, one of the original settlers of Philadelphia, friend and physician of William Penn whom he accompanied on his original journey to America on the ship Welcome.
As the Doctor would bring honorable spirit to a young Philadelphia and surrounding areas, so would Robert Wynne bring honor, spirit, joy, and admiration to his family, friends and all who surrounded him, and eventually his country which he would serve with uprightness in both the United States Army, and in the Pentagon.
Born and raised in the area, Bob graduated from Ridley HS in 1961 and obtained his bachelor's degree in English and History from the University of Alabama and Pennsylvania Military College (now Widener University) in 1966. An Army Veteran, he served in the Pentagon during the Vietnam War.
His extensive formal education as well as independent scholarly passion would pave the way for a successful career as an entrepreneur and business advisor, not only fulfilling his own vocations, but allowing others to partake in his legacy.
Bob began his career with Dun & Bradstreet, later worked for Commercial Credit, and ultimately became a proud owner of his own manufacturing business. He retired from National City Bank after 10 years as Senior Mortgage Banker.
Having a life-long passion for golf, Bob would teach others this inherited pastime, including brother and children. He was proud to have learned the game from his high school coach and father, Hugh, who was well known for his ties within the community.
Bob was named captain of his college golf team in his senior year, and enthusiastically played throughout his life at many courses, culminating with his walking up the 18th hole at The Old Course at St. Andrews in Scotland with tears of joy in his eyes.
A man of faith, Bob was committed to The Church and passed his conviction on to his children. A spiritual man grounded in academia, he gave inspiration to many due to his defense of faith and knowledge of Church history.
Showers of blessings continued to follow him as he fulfilled three pilgrimages to Medjugorje, and selflessly made it possible for others to partake in these special travels including his daughters and a sister of The Church. During one of these very special trips, he witnessed the awesome opportunity of his son receiving First Holy Communion in Medjugorje.
Bob's family finds solace in knowing that the unknown and mysterious answers to life's deepest questions which he would reflect upon often will be answered, from the great and mystical to the small and comical. While countless descriptions of positivity carry on his memory, Bob is most well-known for his keen wit.
While some may remember him by a kind word, some warmhearted advice, or friendly afterthought, most remember him for his unmistakable sense of humor matched with a warm smile.
He left behind a legacy, filling everyone he met with cheer, and you could always count on him to remind you that faith is most important in life, while learning is perhaps second, though never forgetting that a life without jocularity is no life at all.
Survivors: Bob was a loving and devoted husband and father. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Leandra M. (nee Kachinski); his daughters Lisa of Los Angeles, CA, Katherine E. of Pottstown, PA, Sarah E. Bellenghi (Alec) of Bradenton, FL and his son Ryan C. of FL. He was the beloved son of the late Hugh A. and Mary E. Wynne. He was also the brother of Hugh A. Wynne (Lee, deceased), Carol Reed Pike (George Reed, deceased), and Stephen M. Wynne (Pamela) and uncle to a growing extended family of 21 nieces and nephews and 24 great nieces and nephews.
Viewing and Service: Family and Friends are invited to his Viewing on Monday, July 22nd at 9:00 AM followed by his Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Pius X Catholic Church, 220 Lawrence Road, Broomall, PA 19008.
Interment: SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery.

Our thoughts & prayers are with the Wynne family. Children are a wonderful testament to their upbringing. Having met 3 of the Wynne children & getting to know 1 extremely well, I can say with certainty that Mr. Wynne was a man of integrity, dignity, drive & humor. Thank you for passing on those traits to your children!
