Roy Thomas Dussell, age 64, died Friday, May 10, 2013, at the Crozer-Chester Medical Center in Upland.
A lifelong Delaware County resident, Roy was presently living in Eddystone at the time of his death. He was born in Chester, and was raised and educated in Eddystone. He graduated from Eddystone High School in 1966, where he was an accomplished high school athlete – excelling in baseball, basketball and football. He was also the president of Student Council.
Roy served his country proudly in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, where he was stationed in Kentucky. He was formerly employed as a machine operator for the Scott Paper Company in Essington, Tinicum Township, for more than 20 years. Roy was a member of the VFW Post No. 7949 in Eddystone. He had worked as a bartender at the 1020 Bar on Saville Avenue in Eddystone, for many years.
He was the son of the late Elmer Harrison Dussell and the late Anna Naomi (Jones) Dussell.
Survivors: His daughters, Selena L. Dussell of Eddystone and Rachel A. Dussell of Holmes of Ridley Township; his siblings, Carol, Betty, Larry, Jimmy, George, Bobby and Michael; as well as his grandson Billy MacDonald Jr.
Funeral Service: 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Nolan-Fidale Funeral Home, Ltd., 2316 Providence Ave., Chester.
Visitation: From 4-5:45 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
