Ruth Wood Jenkins Feb. 16, 1925 - Jan. 4, 2014 Ruth Wood Jenkins, 88, of Venice, FL formerly of Media, PA passed away on Jan. 4, 2014. Ruth was employed by Sun Oil Company for 31 years before retiring in 1983 and moving to Venice in 1985; until recently, she was an active member of Myakka Pines Golf Club. Ruth was predeceased by her husband of 66 years, Howard Jenkins and daughter, Joyce Jenkins. Survivors: Her children, Carol Evans of The Villages, FL, Kathleen Jenkins of Venice, FL and Robert (Catherine) Jenkins of Garnet Valley, PA; five grandchildren, Colleen Jenkins (Justin) Gaiski, Daniel Jenkins, Kathleen Evans (Michael) Newcomer, Joshua (Vanessa) Evans and Caitlin Jenkins (John); and two great grandchildren, Sonny Evans and Mary Grace Newcomer. In lieu of flowers: Donations may be made to TideWell Hospice, Inc., 5955 Rand Blvd., Sarasota, FL 34238 or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Burial: Will be in a private ceremony at a later date.
