Thank you Sam for the advice you gave about teaching: advice which served me well through 38 years of high school teaching. I passed your wisdom on to quite a few younger teachers at Henderson. I am so sorry to hear of Dr. Ferrante's passing. As a student of his at Media High School, I fell in love with English and consequently had a 40 year career teaching it.

I was saddened by the news of Sam's passing. He was one of my favorites at Chi. I considered him to be a friend as well as my mentor. I fondly remember our many talks on the "hill" when I worked with him in the late '90's. I will miss him. May he rest in peace.

So sorry to hear of Dr. Ferrante's passing. He was a nice person. I worked under him at Hilltop and was always treated fairly.

Fran,
Sam and I grew up together as you know. Sooo many memories. All of them great. I feel like I lost a brother. I enjoyed every moment I spent with Sam, rather it was on the back lots or the ball field or on the basketball courts at Franklin School. We spent so much time together as kids. I of ourse could go on and on, but you know all about it.
I just want to say that Maureen and I will pray for him and also for you and the family. We share your sorrow.

My sincerest condolences to the family. Sam interviewed me for a job at Chichester Middle School. I remember that he made feel comfortable during a very stressful situation. It was his voice on the phone later that day that said, "Congratulations! You got the job." I will remember him as kind and always smiling.

Franny, I am soo sadden by the news of Sammy's passing. The guys on the Greenhalgh Baseball Team were all hero's to me as a child. Although I was young I remember till today all their names. I don't have to tell you what a wonderful guy you married. Traveling to Lancaster for the games and living at the Chester field was always so much fun. Take care and I will see you soon to pay my respect to a wonderful man.
