Susan Rostas Obituary

Susan (nee Kocsis) Rostas, age 69 Susan (nee Kocsis) Rostas, age 69, of Media, passed away peacefully on May 29th at Taylor Hospice in Ridley Park Pa. With her daughters Adrienne and JoAnna, and son-in-law Keith, and her beloved Chihuahua Peanut by her side, she ended her long battle with melanoma. Born in Budapest Hungary, Susan enjoyed the normal life that most children do. One day in 1956 her small town was seized by the Russian army, her family decided to flee for a more ideal life. At the age of 12 years old her and her family trekked for miles through the snow covered woods in a quest for freedom, finally reaching safety in Austria. Spending 5 years in Austria, Susan was then sent to America where she spent the rest of her life. In 1961, Susan graduated beauty school and became a hair stylist, until she decided to leave her career to raise her children. In 1993 Susan started her career again as a C.N.A. at Fair Acres in Lima Pa. From there she retired for good in 2008. Being an avid animal lover, Susan had a few cats and a dog, and often got involved in animal rescue and various charities. Survivors: Daughters, Adrienne J Meil, JoAnna Horne; her sister, Ava Kish; her nephew, Peter Kish; son-in-law, Keith Meil. There will be a private ceremony at her daughter's house at a time to be determined. Contributions: Abramson Cancer Center C/O Penn Medicine Development, 3535 Market St., Philadelphia Pa, 19104. Adrienne, the first time I met you I knew somehow we were going to be friends and I was right. The first time I met your Mom, I knew we would be friends and I was right. Mom was diagnosed shortly after I was and man were we both mad! We became closer maybe more quietly than when you and I were truly friends but we knew what the other was going through. We understood and we weren`t going to take it. Cancer was annoying with Dr. appts., surgeries, after care, it totally flipped us on our backs and changed our lives. BUT being the stubborn people we are we chose to stand up and fight! MOM fought hard and kept going. If I asked how she was she`d say,.... "well",.... (yes mom, I get it).
The smile and hug she gave to me a few weeks ago when I showed up and surprised her to say hi will forever be in my memory. She made us laugh, cry, yell, drink, eat, and most of all, she made us her family too. God Bless her A and know she is always up there watching down on you.

Adrienne, I am so sorry for your loss. I've always enjoyed your Mother's company. She was a joy to be around. Always laughing & enjoying life. She had a good heart. I am sure she made the people she took care of at her job smile every day she was there. And her compassion & love for animals was another tribute to the person she was. Your Mom was a bright light & made the world a better place. My thoughts are with you.

Dear Adrienne, I'm so sorry for your loss. I hope fond memories will ease your sorrow. Your Mother was an amazing woman. I loved your Mother's, feisty strong will and fabulous sense of humour. Even when the chips were down she found a way to laugh it off. She was such an inspiration to live life to the fullest. We shared many chuckles during our long phone calls. Sometimes we'd talk for two hours. She spoke so proudly of you, Keith and your friends. She loved you dearly. Peanut, Annie, Lily and Rosie gave her so much joy. I'm grateful that Annie and Lily are with her now. I wish I could be at the funeral to honour your Mother. I will be there in spirit and I shall light a candle for her and say some prayers for her and you. Your Mother will remain in my heart forever. Please know that I am here for you, Adrienne and would welcome your call anytime. Sending love and hugs and strength for this incredibly sad time. Love, Fran

Adi,
I will probably butcher this...
Annyira sajnálom, részvétem. Anyád egy csodálatos no, és bátor, mint a többiek. De mint a többiek, o volt a nagy szíve. Hiányozni fog a sok. És gondoljunk csak, o is csatlakozik Hugi és hajt mindenkit anyákat! Vannak napok Bárcsak hallotta kiabált valamit hülye! Bárcsak ott lehetnék. Tudd meg, hogy én is rád gondolok. Szeretlek.
Love, Andrea
