Thomas Smith Obituary

Thomas "Tommie" P. Smith, Thomas "Tommie" P. Smith, on February 27, 2013, of Newtown Square, PA. Tom was born in Cootehill, County Cavan, Ireland. He was a Founding partner in Cavan Construction Co., a leading concrete contractor across the tri-state area in its second generation mainly due to Tommie's influence, on his sons, as a leader and successful businessman. He was a tough man for a tough business. Tom was a member of the Llanerch Country Club, Wildwood Country Club, Cavan Society for 50 years and Friendly Sons of St. Patrick. He was also an avid golfer and fisherman. Survivors: He was the beloved husband of Kathleen E. Smith (Frain); loving father of Tom Jr. (Denise), John (Carolyn), Peter (Regina), Brendan (Doris) and Brian (Victoria); dear grandfather of 13 grandchildren. Also survived by his sisters, Gladas McEnroe, Margaret Smith. Viewing: Relatives and friends are invited to his Visitation Friday Eve 6:00-9:00 PM and Saturday 10:30-11:45 AM at the Donohue Funeral Home, 3300 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, PA 19073, 610-353-6300 and to his Funeral Mass 12:30 PM at St. Anastasia Church, 3301 West Chester Pike, Newtown Square, PA. Int. SS Peter & Paul Cem. Contributions: In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Little Sisters of the Poor, 964 Main Street, Pawtucket, RI 02860 would be appreciated. No flowers please!
