Walter E. Burger

Walter E. Burger, 73 Walter E. Burger, 73, of West Chester, PA, passed away Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at home. He was the husband of Pearl Pietropola Burger with whom he shared 49 years of marriage. Born in Upper Darby, PA he was the son of the late Walter H. and Margaret Duncan Burger. Walter was a veteran of the US Army. He was employed with PECO for twenty-five years as Supervisor of the Carpenter's Shop in Philadelphia. Walter enjoyed many outdoor activities such as BMX racing, hiking, skiing, hunting with dogs, traveling, camping, canoeing and listening to bluegrass music. Survivors: Wife; 3 children, Walter Burger and his wife, Susie of Carbondale, CO, Jeffrey Burger and his wife, Traci of Pahoa, HI, Natalie Eason and husband, Tom of West Grove; 7 grandchildren, Tejah, Kimaya, Shanti, Grady, Walter, Jr., Olivia, Cecily; brother, Robert Burger of Folcroft; and caregiver, Hawah Conteh. Funeral services: 11am, Monday, July 1, Edward L. Collins, Jr. Funeral Home, Inc., 86 Pine St., Oxford, PA, where family and friends may call from 10 - 11 am. Interment: Will be in Oxford Cemetery.
