William Edward Copley, Sr. William Edward Copley, Sr., age 77, of Wilmington, DE, passed January 18 ,2013, peacefully surrounded by his adoring family. Bill Copley was born August 21, 1935 in Mount Pleasant, PA and raised in Garden City, PA. He was the oldest of four children of Hank and Florence Boyer Copley. He graduated from Nether Providence High School and attended PMC. Having served in the Army, Bill was a proud veteran. Bill was inducted into the DelCo and PA Hall of Fame for his excellence in football, baseball, and track. He had a vast amount of interests including hiking, gardening, cooking and archeology. Bill worked for Colonial Parking, Brandywine Race Track, and a top salesman at Levitz Furniture. He owned and operated COPLEY'S tavern. Bill was predeceased by his eldest son, William E. Copley Jr. and his loving dogs, Duke, Stumpy, Sparky, and Greta. Survivors: Bill's loving heart will be deeply missed by his mother Florence Copley; his devoted wife of 50 years, Gertrude Hazzard Copley; his two sons and two daughters, Joseph Copley and wife Catrina, Jerome Copley, Cathy Copley, and Elizabeth Copley Schiavone; three grandchildren, Evelyn Copley Schiavone, William and Annabelle Copley; his three sisters, Florine Burkhard and husband Edward, Elizabeth Honnald, and Mary Jane Copley; a number of nieces and nephews; his many friends and his dog, Stella. Services: Friday 1:30PM at the Pagano Funeral Home, 3711 Foulk Road, Garnet Valley, PA.
