Barbara Ann Depew Obituary
Barbara Ann (nee White) Fleenor Depew Barbara Ann (nee White) Fleenor Depew, full of life, lover of the Lord, florist, avid golfer, eaglette, majorette, dancer, accordion player, singer, and yodeler, was called into the hands of Jesus on May 2, 2014, in her Vero Beach, Florida home at the age of 82. Barb was born in Virginia to the late Nathan and Lula (nee Brewer) White on March 21, 1932 and grew up in Prospect Park. Barb was full of laughter and had a contagious smile. Loved ones remember her soft touch and the warmth of her hugs that brought comfort, the twinkle in her eyes, her gentle voice, encouragement, and wisdom. She taught kindness and compassion to others and was always upbeat and happy. Those who came in contact with her were blessed just being in her presence. She was married for 37 years to the late Jack E. Fleenor and mother-in-law to the late Jim Allen. Barb was cherished by her husband of 23 years, Edward N. Depew, and daughters: Jackie Olson, Brenda Abrams (Rusty), and Pam Allen. She was loved by her grandchildren: Brandt and Karen Olson; Becky, Michael, Eddie, and Keith Allen; Michele (Krissinger) Newswanger; Danielle and Andrew Abrams, and six great grandchildren, as well as her sisters: June Vernie (Jake), Linda Jaszczalt, Pat Steinle (Ron), and many nieces and nephews. Services: A greeting and brunch will take place Saturday, June 7, at 9a.m., followed by a celebration of life service at 11a.m. at Middletown Presbyterian Church, 273 S. Old Middletown Rd., Media, PA 19063. Interment: In the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers: Contributions can be made to the Middletown Presbyterian Church Legacy Fund.
