Deborah Green Obituary

Deborah M. "Debbie" (nee Mulhern) Green Deborah M. "Debbie" (nee Mulhern) Green, died on March 18, 2012. Debbie was born in the Wynnewood Section of Philadelphia @ Misercordia Hospital on October 17, 1951. At the age of 5, her family moved to the Briarcliff section of Glenolden on Spruce Street, in Delaware County, where she attended Kindergarten thru eighth grade @ St Joseph's Parochial School in Collingdale. She then went on to Archbishop Prendergast in Drexel Hill, followed by a 3 year Nursing Degree program @ Fitzgerald Mercy Hospital in Darby, Delaware County. Upon graduation from Fitz in May 1972, she worked in the Pediatrics section of that same hospital. She got married on September 1, 1972, and has been married for 39 years. She then worked for a local Pediatrician who happen to deliver her two daughters Megan and Amy. After moving to Springfield in 1981, she found herself working @ Springfield Hospital, then called Metropolitan Hospital, for the next 15 years. Next stop Villanova University, where she worked in the student infirmary until 2002, when she went on disability from her declining health. Debbie was a fantastic Nurse and the same could be said for her as a patient over the next 10 years of her declining health. She has had just about every test that you could think of in regards to her health. She very seldom complained and was a real inspiration to those that worked with her or happen to take care of her. Debbie leaves a legacy that will be hard to duplicate or I doubt that anyone would care to challenge. If you ever find yourself down in the dumps, think of my very special friend and the mother of my children and the grandmother of our nine beautiful grandchildren. She flies with the angels and if anyone should deserve to see the face of God and be at peace, it is my Debbie. Survivors: Her loving husband David C. Green; daughters Megan C. (Richard) Rees and Amy M. (Eric) Mewha; 9 grandchildren Courtney, Kaitlin, Kyle, Carlie, Jamie, Erin, Ryan, Khloe and Callaghan; siblings Virginia Ullman, John J. (Mary) Mulhern and Charles Mulhern. Service: Relatives and friends are invited to her Funeral Mass Friday 10:30 AM Church of St. Francis, 136 Saxer Ave., Springfield, PA 19064. Visitation Friday after 9 AM in the Church. Interment Saints Peter & Paul Cemetery. Contributions to Wounded Warrior Project, 4899 Belfort Road, Suite 300, Jacksonville, FL 32256. Arr: O'Leary Funeral Home, Springfield, PA

Sorry to hear about Debbie. She suffered a lot. I have fond memories riding for 1 hour (before freeways) to Springfield. Sue and I enjoyed playing with Debbie.

Dave,
I was so sorry to hear about Debbie. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.. First let me tell you what a pleasure it was taking care of Deb. She was an amazing person. I never heard her complain about anything even though at times she had to be in pain. I felt Deb was more of a friend then a patient. I enjoyed talking with her about children, grandchildren, the phillies and so much more. Dave you were an amazing husband. We often talked about how dedicated and loving you were with Deb. You never acted as if taking care of Deb was a burden. The world has lost a lovely person but heaven has gained an amazing angel...RIP friend..

Love,
Kathy
