Elizabeth C. (nee Butler) "Miss Betty" Tait, 64 Registered Nurse Elizabeth C. (nee Butler) "Miss Betty" Tait, 64, died on Sunday, October 14, 2012 at her home in Boothwyn, surrounded by her loving family.
She was a life long resident of Delaware County, currently residing in Upper Chichester Township. Born in Darby, and raised and educated in the Briarcliff section of Darby Township, Miss Betty was a 1966 graduate of Archbishop Prendergast High School, as well as a 1970 graduate of the Saint Agnes School of Nursing in Philadelphia.
She was employed as a Registered Nurse and had worked at Sacred Heart Hospital in Chester, and then Crozer - Chester Medical Center in Upland. Miss Betty enjoyed spending time with her family, and she loved spoiling her grandchildren. She was a long standing member and the President of the "Jack and Betty Kitchen Club" and was a member of Saint John Fisher R.C. Church in Boothwyn.
She was the daughter of the late Joseph Michael Butler and the late Elizabeth Margaret ( nee Dugan ) Butler. Survivors: Her loving husband of 42 years John E. "Jack" Tait; her daughters Tracey L. Gallagher (Michael) of Tryon, NC and Lisa A. Lee (Albert) of Oxford; also surviving are her cherished grandchildren Kyle, Sarah, Daniel, Kelsey and Riley; her sister Carol Otruba of Leesburg, GA; as well as her loving brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.
Funral Mass Thursday at 11 AM at St. John Fisher R.C. Church, 4225 Chichester Avenue, Boothwyn. Burial Saints Peter & Paul Cemetery, Springfield. Visitation Wednesday from 6 to 8 PM and once again on Thursday from 9:15 to 10:15 AM at the Nolan - Fidale Funeral Home, Ltd., 5980 Chichester Avenue in Aston.
