Francis A. "Frank" Dowrick Obituary
Mr. Francis A. Dowrick, age 91, of Upper Darby, passed away March 23, 2013 at Harlee Manor in Springfield.
Born to the late Edward D. and Eleanor (nee Kelly) Dowrick, Frank was an U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He received both a Bronze Star and a Purple Heart. He later worked as a pattern maker for General Electric Aerospace.
Frank is remembered as a good neighbor and an avid card player. He loved the Eagles and the Phillies, and enjoyed the Atlantic City casinos. He was a nurturing grandfather.
Frank was predeceased by his first wife, Laura V. (nee Shelly); his second wife, Eileen A. (nee O'Hagan); his grandson, Billy Loveland; his sister, Anne Brittingha; and his brother, Edward Dowrick.
Survivors: His dear children, Joanie Loveland (Bill), Jeanne Dowrick, Fran Marra, Eileen Dowrick, Maureen Buchser, Joseph Cassidy (Donna) and Anne Bowden (Jeff); 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; brother, Jack Dowrick; and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation: Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing at 8 a.m. Wednesday with eulogy at 9:20 a.m. in The Donohue Funeral Home, 8401 West Chester Pike, Upper Darby, 610-449-0300. Funeral Mass: 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Bernadette Church, 1035 Turner Ave., Drexel Hill. Interment: SS Peter & Paul Cemetery, Marple.
