1936 - 2014 Obituary Condolences
Genevieve Blankley Obituary
Genevieve "Jean" Blankley Genevieve "Jean" Blankley was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on January 21, 1936, daughter of the late Michael Pawloski and Frances (Grzeskiewicz) Pawloski. While she was at home, she lost her battle with Alzheimer's and entered through Heaven's gates on August 21, 2014. Jean graduated from Little Flower High School, Philadelphia in 1954. A consummate mother and homemaker, Jean was an excellent cook and enjoyed preparing meals for her family and friends. If you knew Jean personally, there wasn't a time when she didn't have her nose in a book, she was solving a Sudoku puzzle or playing games on the computer. Jean had an unwavering faith in God. She was a member of St. Charles's and St Eugene's Catholic Church. Over the years prior to her illness, she became very involved with the church and was a lectern, a volunteer and a CCD teacher for the 5th grade at St Eugene's . In the early years, Jean worked for the Army Corp. of Engineers as a Buyer, in Philadelphia, a Real Estate Sales Associate for Cardinal Realty, in Aldan, and she ended her career as a Sales Associate for Knight Corporation in Havertown. Jean was preceded in death by her loving and devoted husband and dancing partner of nearly 53 years, "whom she adored," Myron J. Blankley, September 2011. Her family knows she is lovingly wrapped in his arms again for all eternity. She was also predeceased by her sister Stella"Terry" Bonner-Giorgio and brother Joseph Pawloski. Jean is survived by her children Donna (Len) Bera, Suzanne (Martha) Blankley, Denise Blankley, John (Kristine) Blankley and Karen Blankley-Arcuicci. The Blankley Family would like to especially recognize all those who chose to give their time, unselfishly and lovingly, to assist in the care of their mother, since she was diagnosed, and knows those memories will be cherished by her son-in-law Len Bera, her nieces Phyllis Bachman, Kathryn Volante, and Michele Parker, her granddaughters Jessica Turnbull and Genevieve Blankley, and her grandsons Andrew and Matthew Arcuicci. She was the loving grandmother of twelve grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Jean was a very kind and gentle soul. She had a loving and generous heart and spirit and will always be remembered for her devotion to family. A Celebration of Life Mass will be held on Saturday, August 30, 2014 at 11:30 AM at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, Dennison Avenue, Drexel Hill. Friends and family may call Saturday from 9:30-11:15 AM at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church. Interment will be at SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery in Springfield.
