George Plotts Obituary
George W. Plotts, 76, on May 11, 2011. Born and raised in Media, PA. Mr. Plotts graduated from Media High School in 1952. He was employed by the Media Borough Police Dept. from 1953 to 1962. He was former General Manager of Mister Carpet Company in West Chester and currently employed by Baker Printing in Media, PA. Mr. Plotts was a former Scout Master of Media Troop #1, He was a former member of Boy Scouts Minquis District Committee and a life member and former officer of Media Fire Co. George was a member of Rose Tree Fire Co., a former member of the Board of Directors and long time Chief Umpire of Media Little League and Media Babe Ruth League. He currently served on the staff of Little League PA. District 19 as District Umpire in Chief and a tournament director. George was the recipient of Little League District 19 Volunteer of the Year Award – 1995. He served as Secretary of the Media Oldtimers Association Sports Hall of Fame. Recipient of Media Oldtimers Association Hall of Fame Award as Sportsman of the Year – 1993. He was a member of Bartram-Sand Lodge #298, F&AM, Benj. Franklin Consistory, 32 Degree, Scottish Rite Masons, Lulu Temple Shriners, a charter member of Rajah Temple Shrine Yacht Club, Reading, PA and former member of Salem Yacht Club, Salem, NJ. Mr. Plotts was pre-deceased by his wife the late Norma "Sis" Plotts in 2008.
Survivors: Son George W. Plotts IV; daughter-in-law Noreen E. Plotts, 2 grandsons William and Shane Plotts; sister Kathleen McCuen of Upper Providence; brother-in-law Ronald McCuen.
Services Tuesday 10 AM at the Rigby Harting & Hagan Funeral Home, 15 E. Fourth St., Media, PA.
Visitation: Monday evening 6 to 9 PM with a Masonic Service at 8 PM at the funeral home and a viewing again Tuesday morning from 9 to 10 AM.
Burial: Media Cemetery, Media, PA.
Contributions: Media Little League, P.O. Box 1752, Media, PA.

Our deepest sympathy to George and Family. Mr. Plotts had a unique way of being a kind, and caring individual. His love for Baseball is surely being, now again, enjoyed with his gracious wife in the presence of Our Lord and Savior!

We are really going to miss Mr.Plotts. He always had great stories to tell of his baseball memories as a ump and of George playing too. He was always so happy. We are glad we spent time with him on Easter. He is with Norma now and they will watch over Will and Shane and make sure they are safe and happy.
