Helen C. Rodgers (Nee Callahan) Helen Catherine Callahan Rodgers, 91, of Ridley Township, passed peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Feb. 10th of complications from pneumonia. Born November 12, 1921 in Philadelphia, she was a long time resident of the Schuylkill section of the city, with her family owning Callahan's Grille. In 1953, she and her husband moved to the Swarthmorewood section of Ridley Township, where she currently resided. Helen retired from the Delaware County Court House in 1984, where she worked as a clerk in the Election Bureau. Mrs. Rodgers graduated from West Catholic High School for Girls in 1940. She was an original parishioner of Notre Dame de Lourdes Church in Swarthmore, and a member of Notre Dame de Lourdes Seniors Club. She was also a long time member of the Ridley Township Women's Republicans group. She was an avid reader, sports fan, loving mother and grandmother. Mrs. Rodgers was the widow of William F. (Bud) Rodgers. Helen and Bud were married for 66 years. She was the daughter of the late Thomas and Catherine McGrath Callahan. She was sister of the late John, Edward, Leo, James, Mary and Thomas Callahan and Margaret Gallagher. Survivors: Sons: William of Vero Beach FL, Thomas (Theresa) of Wenonah NJ and Daughters: Eileen (William) Fulton of Broomall, Mary Beth (Frank) Dostillio of Glen Mills and Patricia (Butch) Morrisette of Swarthmore. Grandchildren: Michael Fulton, Jacqueline and Peter Morrisette. Mass: 11:00 a.m., Friday, Notre Dame de Lourdes Church, Fairview Road and Michigan Avenue, Swarthmore. Visitation: 9:15 to 10:45, Friday, at the church. Burial: SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery, Springfield, PA. Contributions: Notre Dame de Lourdes Church, 950 Michigan Avenue, Swarthmore, PA 19081.
