Helen Prox Obituary
Helen Prox Helen Prox, loving wife, wonderful mother, and Christian mentor for many, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday evening, March 27th. Her last moments were surrounded by family singing her favorite hymns to her. Helen was born on May 18, 1921, the daughter of John and Edna Taylor of Chester, PA. She and her husband, Peter, built and moved into their new home on Williamson Avenue in Brookhaven, PA in 1949, where they raised their family of four children and lived for over 53 years. She dedicated her life to her family, church, and Christian ministries. She was a founding member of Faith Baptist Church, now Faith Community Church, in Brookhaven. Her passion was mentoring young people and she helped bring Young Life Ministries to the Greater Philadelphia area and opened her home to hundreds of "kids" over the years providing a positive impact to many. In 2002 she and her husband moved to Enterprise, AL and subsequently, Ozark, AL to live with her son and daughter-in-law, Jon and Renee Prox. Helen was preceded in death by her husband of almost 60 years, Peter Prox. Survivors: Her four children, Ronald Prox, David (Peggy) Prox, Mary Jane (David) Schultz, Jonathan (Renee) Prox, ten grandchildren, and seventeen great-grandchildren, who all loved her very much. Visitation/Service: will be held at the Faith Community Church, 3515 Edgemont Avenue, Brookhaven, PA beginning at 10:00 AM, April 2, with a memorial service at 12:00 noon and a reception to follow.
