Joan Marie Bucci Obituary
Joan Marie Bucci A life's tribute to the love of Christ After a valiant battle with cancer, Joan Marie Bucci of Boothwyn, was welcomed into the arms of her Savior on Sunday, December 8, 2013. Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on March 29, 1942, Joan was the daughter of the late Frances and Dorothea Roche. She became the beloved wife of Ralph Stephen Bucci, on July 17, 1965, with whom she shared 48 magnificent years of marriage. A consummate wife, mother, and homemaker, Joan's purpose and mission in life was to sacrificially love and care for others. Joan was the devoted mother of four children, one Goddaughter and one Godson, and the cherished grandmother of seventeen children. As an outpouring of her love, a special highlight for Joan was annually providing her children and grandchildren a memory filled vacation at the Jersey shore. Joan had a deep and unwavering faith in God which called her to look after everyone in need and generously give to others. Orphaned at a young age, yet strengthened by her faith, she became the mother everyone wanted to call their own. Selflessly serving as a babysitter to family, friends, and neighbors, as well as caregiver to her much-loved sister, mother-in-law, and aunts, Joan was known to all as the extraordinary woman you could depend on to nurture and protect everyone in her care. Joan also spent many years serving children as a Sunday School teacher and nursery volunteer for several churches and was a member of Brandywine Valley Baptist Church. In addition to cherishing children, Joan enjoyed spending time with her adult Bible study groups. Joan also treasured the time she spent with her lifelong friends, who walked with her through her last days, as part of their very special school sorority. Joan was predeceased by her sister Dorothy Mitchell, brother William Roche, and beloved Goddaughter Regina Godoy. Survivors: Husband, Ralph S. Bucci; daughter, Renee and husband David Alshouse; daughter, Loreen and husband Arthur Dietz; son, Stephen and wife Jennifer Bucci; daughter, Donna and husband Jeffrey Evernham, and Godson Brett Godoy; sister, Elizabeth Gallagher and brother, Joseph Roche, seventeen grandchildren, and six nieces and nephews whom she continually showered with love. Visitation: Thursday, December 12th, from 7 - 9 p.m., at Pagano Funeral Home, 3711 Foulk Rd., Garnet Valley, PA, 19060. Services: A Christian celebration of life will be held the following day on Friday, December 13, also at Pagano Funeral Home, with a 9 a.m. viewing, and 10 a.m. service. Interment: Mount Hope Cemetery, Aston, PA. Online condolences may be made by visiting: www.paganofuneralhome.com
