Melvin R. Jones

Melvin R. Jones Melvin R. Jones died on March 13, 2013 after a brief illness at Bryn Mawr Terrace. He was 92 years young. Mr. Jones was a graduate of the Wharton School of business at the Univ. of Penna. He was a pilot in the Army Air Force and member of the 459th Bomb Group during World War II. He was held as a POW for a year. After the war, he worked for Brocks Food, Tyson Food and retired from J.W. Riley Food Brokers in Haverford, PA. He was their Chief Financial Officer. He was predeceased by his wife of 66 years Mary (nee Slavin), his daughter Margaret Jones and his brother Tom Jones. Survivors: his daughter Mary Maier of Ardmore, granddaughter Lisa Maier and his sister Gladys Spence. Services: Friends and family are invited to his Funeral Mass on Saturday, March 23, 10:00 AM, in St. John Chysostom Church, 615 S. Providence Rd., Wallingford.
