Millie (Melucia) Rose Barbacane DiMarcella, 93, Millie (Melucia) Rose Barbacane DiMarcella, 93, of Wallingford passed away on March 19, 2013 at Avow Hospice in Naples, FL. Millie was the wife of the late Girk (Guerino) DiMarcella who passed away May 16, 1986. Born on July 13, 1919 in Lenni she was the daughter of the late Lizette nee DiPietro and Donato Barbacane. As a child, Millie's family moved to Chester, where she and her husband Girk resided. Millie was a prominent business person, owning and operating Laura's restaurant in Chester for many years. She once served John F. Kennedy a cup of coffee from Laura's Restaurant. Millie was a member of St. John Chrysostom Parish. During her retirement years, Millie was employed by Aramark and worked at Strath Haven High School for 28 years. Millie loved the children and was very proud to share her wisdom with many of them. She carried the pride of the school with her at all time and gave many accolades to the student body, which put a picture of her in their 1998 yearbook. Millie was preceded in death by her sisters Laura McLaughlin, Lena Abbott, Mary Varano and her brothers Joe and Louis Barbacane. Survivors: Her daughter, Anita Gunderson, wife of Edwin Elicker of Glen Mills, and her sons Vincent DiMarcella husband of Sherrie DiMarcella of Castle Rock, CO, and James DiMarcella husband of the late Carol DiMarcella of Brookhaven. She is also survived by four Grandchildren James DiMarcella of Upland, Julie Gunderson Mihm of Denver, PA, Jeanine Gunderson Christensen of St. Paul, MN, and Christopher DiMarcella of Castle Rock, CO, Step Grandchild Ward T. Elicker husband of Alice Elicker, six Great Grandchildren, her brother Vince Barbacane husband of Jane Barbacane of Media and many nieces and nephews. Visitation: Tuesday evening, from 6 to 8:30 P.M. and Wednesday, from 9 to 10:00 A.M, at Carr Funeral Home, 935 S. Providence Rd. (Rt. 320), Wallingford. Funeral Mass: Wednesday, 10:30 A.M., St. John Chrysostom Church, 615 S. Providence Rd., Wallingford. Int.: Immaculate Heart Cemetery.
