Milton M. " Mel " Mowbray, 90 Milton M. "Mel" Mowbray, 90, died April 19, 2012 at Naamans Creek Country Manor in Garnet Valley, Bethel Township. Mel had been a longtime resident of Springfield. He was born, raised and educated in Philadelphia, and had graduated from Overbrook High School in their Class of 1940. Mr. Mowbray served his country as a Chief Engineer in the United States Coast Guard - Merchant Marines during World War II. In his later years, he worked as a self-employed boilermaker for 40 + years. He was a 54 year member of the Pilgrim Lodge No. 712 F.& A.M., the Phoenix Quarter Midget Racing Club, and a lifetime member of the Checkered Flag Fan Club. He was the loving husband of the late Anna S. ( VanWyk ) Mowbray, who passed away on August 31, 2009. Survivors: His daughters Carol A. Rydel (Steve) of Boothwyn and Gail Wolf (Chris) of Columbus, GA; his son William J. Mowbray (Mary) of Media; also surviving are his seven grandchildren Bill, Tracy, Jim, Michael, Brian, Harrison and Ben. Masonic Service Saturday at 3 PM at Nolan - Fidale Funeral Home, Ltd., 5980 Chichester Avenue, Aston. Burial Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown, Bucks County.
